Welcome to WIR

Current issues relating to water as a resource are the focus of the departments rewa & siwawi and tectraa e.V.

The Institute Water Infrastructure Resources - WIR - is a thematic merger of the Chairs of Urban Water Management (SiWaWi), Resource Efficient Wastewater Technology (rewa), Resource Recovery from Wastewter (renew), and the Center for Innovative Wastewater Technologies (tectraa) of the RPTU Kaiserslautern Landau e.V..

WIR combines and links the different areas of urban water management in teaching and research. WIR is dedicated to developing and implementing innovative, future-proof solutions for the sustainable use of water and wastewater resources and the necessary infrastructure systems in the urban environment.

To this end, the chairs siwawi, rewa, and renew - also in cooperation with national and international partners - conduct both basic and applied research projects in close technical coordination with tectraa, whose focus is on technology and knowledge transfer.
